Proper care will extend the life of your floors

    Carpet needs to be vacuumed on a routine basis. Vacuuming removes loose dirt, dust and debris that can get into the carpet fibers and cause a permanent stain. When dirt is left in the carpet, these gritty, sharp particals can damage your carpet.

    For spots and spills, blot the area starting from the outside and moving inward using a white towel. Do not rub at the spot, as this can damage the carpet fibers.

    If your pet has an accident on the carpet, clean the stain immediately by blotting it with a towel until it is almost dry and then use a spot treatment with enzymes to remove the lingering smell.

    Try to use the least amount of solution possible. Select non-cationic detergents and spot cleaners sold especially for stain-resistant carpeting with neutral PH levels.
  • no water
    Do not overwet carpet. Over-wetting can cause brownout, carpet shrinkage, adhesion problems and many other ongoing issues. Make sure the carpet can dry quickly, using a fan if necessary.

    If your efforts are unsuccessful, contact a professional carpet cleaner right away. Failure to act quickly will increase the odds of a permanent stain.

    Use scissors to clip sprouts and snags in the carpet. Do not pull carpet strands or you may damage the carpet.

    Protect your carpet from prolonged periods of direct sunlight with blinds, shades, or awnings.

    The adhesive under your floor needs time to thoroughly dry after installation. We recommend waiting 72 hours to scrub or wash your floor.

    When using a vacuum cleaner, disengage the beater bar or use the “bare floor” setting to avoid damaging your flooring.

    Wash the floor occasionally with a gentle (non-abrasive) floor cleaner. Always follow cleaning product instructions and adhere to cautions before use. Remove loose dirt with a soft bristle broom.

    Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, sandpaper or other abrasive products.
  • heavy
    Use non-staining felt protectors are for all heavy furniture and funiture legs to reduce indentation. As a general rule of thumb, the heavier the item, the wider the floor protector needed.

    Floor mats should be labeled non-staining. The use of rubber or latex-backed mats can permanently stain your floor. We suggest a non-staining vinyl-backed mat or a woven rug that is colorfast.

    Limit direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time with use of blinds, shades, or awnings.

    Do not use a steam cleaners or store-bought wet spray mops with cleaning solutions containing alcohol on vinyl surfaces.

    Always remove excess water. Liquids not only can cause slip and fall hazards, but on unwelded vinyl plank floors, the water can attack the adhesive, break the bond, and cause the flooring to release from the substrate.

    Do not set heavy items on vinyl plank for 24 hours after installation. Non-staining felt protectors are recommended for all heavy furniture and funiture legs.

    Limit direct sunlight by closing blinds for the first 48 hours after installation. Failing to do so may result in curling and gaping of vinyl planks due to the increase in heat generated from direct sunlight.
